In this role, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining buildings, equipment, and systems to keep everything operating smoothly. From HVAC and plumbing to general upkeep and preventative maintenance, this position is hands-on and essential to ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify and resolve issues
- Repair faulty equipment and damaged structures
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures
- Manage heating, plumbing, and electrical systems to guarantee functionality
- Plan and schedule maintenance and repairs
- Perform quality checks on equipment and systems to meet standards
- Complete general maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, and landscaping
- Respond promptly to residential service requests (A/C, electrical, plumbing, pool, appliance repair)
- Prepare vacant apartments for market-ready status through repairs and improvements
- Maintain inventory records for supplies and equipment
- Assist with budgeting for the maintenance department
- Stay on call for emergency requests and weather-related needs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Indiana Driver’s License (must meet company insurance requirements)
- HVAC, building maintenance technology, or related certification preferred
- 2+ years of experience in maintenance or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and construction systems
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. and perform physical tasks in all weather conditions
- Proficient with maintenance tools and equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA and environmental safety standards
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Flexible and reliable, with availability for overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency calls
