Job Title: Assembly Team Lead
Pay Rate: $22.50/hour
Location: Plainfield, IN 46168

What You’ll Do

• Lead and coordinate daily activities of assembly team members to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements
• Assign work tasks and maintain proper staffing levels to ensure efficient production flow
• Monitor production output and adjust workflow to meet hourly and daily targets
• Coordinate production line start-ups, changeovers, and shift transitions
• Serve as the first point of leadership for assembly operators during the shift
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 quality management systems and customer-specific requirements
• Support environmental management practices in accordance with ISO 14001 standards
• Ensure adherence to Control Plans, PFMEA requirements, standardized work instructions, and process documentation
• Support PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities including process validation and documentation
• Perform Layered Process Audits (LPAs) to verify adherence to standardized processes
• Identify and contain non-conforming products and initiate escalation procedures
• Participate in corrective action processes including 8D problem solving and root cause analysis
• Monitor key production KPIs including efficiency, scrap rates, first-pass yield, downtime, and OEE
• Train, coach, and mentor assembly team members on safety, quality, and production processes
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, waste reduction, and continuous improvement
• Enforce company safety policies and ensure OSHA compliance
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and operational documentation

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 Years Experience in Manufacturing or Assembly Environment
• Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred
• Experience in automotive manufacturing or plastic tube fabrication preferred
• Working knowledge of automotive quality systems including IATF 16949
• Familiarity with PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Layered Process Audits
• Experience with root cause analysis and 8D problem-solving methods
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles
• Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
• Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs when required
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment

2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–12:00 AM
Training on 1st Shift: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM-3:30PM
