Job Title: Ninth Avenue Foods
Pay Rate: $28.00 – 30.00/hour based on experience
Location: Columbus, IN
About the Role:
We’re hiring a Sanitation Team Leader to oversee daily production operations and support a dairy manufacturing facility located in Columbus, IN. In this role, you’ll guide a team of 5+ employees. The right candidate will help ensure quality, accuracy, and workflow efficiency across the line within a freezer warehouse environment.
What you'll do:
Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to safe workplace for all.
Ensure paper towel/soap/sanitizer dispensers in processing rooms, lunchroom and restrooms are stocked.
Ensure drains & floors of processing rooms are kept cleared and clean
Ensure there is no standing water throughout the facility.
Ensure the pallets, garbage cans, and compactor are cleaned daily.
Ensure the compactor and facility grounds are clean and free from trash, debris, and residue
Responsible for managing and maintaining a supply of cleaning chemicals, utensils, and other supplies for the operation of the cleaning program.
Conduct routine inspections as trained
Train new Sanitation Staff
Maintenance and implement components of SQF System (Food Safety and Food Quality) as required.
Flexible to workday or night shifts as required
Coordinates the completion of all required sanitation activities including documentation work required by master sanitation schedule, monthly self-inspection, and environmental pathogen swab schedule.
Ensure SSOPs are updated and most current
Effectively communicate with other
What we're looking for:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a food manufacturing plant or similar environment as a sanitation staff
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent
Forklift operator certified (preferred)
An understanding of pathogens and other food contaminants is required as well as an understanding of modes of control of various sanitation chemicals and physical cleaning.
Ability to work in both warm and cold environments for limited periods of time
Ability to accurately follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform tasks
Able to report issues and provide update to the supervisor
Strong communication skills with ability to read and write in English. Bi-lingual English/Spanish is helpful.
Basic Arithmetic skills

Ability to learn new tasks and concepts
Ability to work independently
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently
Basic computer skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically.
Basic GMP/Food Safety Training (preferred)
Forklift operation certification (preferred)
Use of Personal Protective equipment (gloves, goggles) as necessary
Proper footwear required to prevent slipping, tripping and/or falling
Must use proper lifting techniques
