Job Title: Safety Coordinator
Pay Rate: $21/hr

About the Role
This key role reports to the Supervisor and Manager of Loss Prevention and Safety and is responsible for supporting, communicating, and mitigating all safety and training concerns across the facility. The Safety Trainer will work closely with leadership, floor associates, and on-site temp agencies to champion our safety programs and ensure a safe, compliant work environment.
What You'll Do
Deliver hands-on training for all new Power Industrial Truck (PIT) operators and ensure they complete the Deckers Buddy Training Program. Conduct final evaluations with leadership to ensure operators can safely perform independently.
Ensure OSHA compliance and proper communication regarding PIT training to all operators.
Assist with onboarding new hires and updating training materials as needed.
Collaborate with on-site temp agency safety teams and PIT trainers/recruiters.
Serve as a liaison between the Safety Department, leadership, and associates to promote engagement and compliance with safety programs.
Create, implement, and enforce OSHA standards, Safety SOPs, and safety programs.
Conduct safety inspections, incident investigations, and safety reporting to prevent recurrences.
Respond to emergency situations and participate in safety incident investigations.
Prepare internal communications related to safety concerns to maintain regulatory compliance.
50% – Conduct PIT training, final evaluations, OSHA compliance, and onboarding efforts.
25% – Support implementation of safety programs and enforce OSHA standards/SOPs.
25% – Perform safety inspections, incident investigations, reporting, and emergency response.
What We're Looking For
High School Diploma or GED
OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR/AED certification (current or previous)
Minimum 2 years warehouse experience
Minimum 2 years experience operating forklifts/PIT equipment
3+ years experience in safety and training or related field preferred
Experience with MS Office, workplace safety programs, and analytical performance review
Strong oral and written communication in English (Spanish/Bilingual preferred)
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals
Ability to engage with others at all levels and deliver training in classroom or one-on-one settings
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
Leadership or management experience a plus
Experience with iWarehouse or similar PIT tracking software a plus
Raymond Train the Trainer or similar certification preferred
Must be able to communicate clearly and demonstrate manual dexterity
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with warehouse and training duties
